What is a VersaCLAM Clamshell?

A VersaCLAM clamshell is a container with two halves that are hinged to open and close either at the bottom or the side of the package. Our stock clamshells are premade clamshells that come in many different shapes and sizes. It’s a very strong, robust package that is excellent for any product from small and light to large and heavy. It’s made of an eco-friendly plastic and protects and provides excellent visibility to showcase your product on a store shelf or hanging on a wall.

With VersaCLAM clamshell packaging, an insert or backer card is often used. This card has information about your product and can be seen through the packaging. It helps draw attention to your product on the store shelves.

Types of Clamshell Packaging

Our VersaCLAM clamshell packaging isn’t the only clamshell packaging we offer. We also offer custom clamshells, trifold clamshells, and mock clamshells packaging solutions.

A custom clamshell can be made to any size dimensions, and include custom snaps buttons to help with closure and theft.

A trifold clamshell is one-piece solution made up of a three-part design that includes a triangular base that allows the clamshell to stand upright on a shelf. They are designed so your retail clients have a variety of ways to merchandise your product by either hanging it on a peg wall, standing it on a shelf, or sitting it in a display.

Mock clamshells is a two-piece package. A mock clamshell is comparable to a clamshell but without the hinge and it also requires to be heat sealed or stapled.
